City of Medicine Hat crews solve power outage in Northwest Crescent Heights

The City of Medicine Hat shared online that at 8:55 a.m. on Thursday, crews were on site investigating a power outage affecting 1,697 customers in Northwest Crescent Heights.

Power was restored by approximately 9:30 a.m.

The Medicine Hat Public School Division had stated that Vincent Massey School and Crescent Heights High School were experiencing power outages.

A social media post from the school division stated that students would stay inside as long as it is safe, as they waited for the power to be restored.

The post continued to say that school staff were working to be resourceful and find ways to make learning fun as they navigated the power outage.

St. Michael’s School, part of the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education, posted on social media at 9:36 a.m. that power had been restored to their building.

The Big Marble Go Centre was also impacted by the outage, and the opening of the Kinsmen Aquatic Park took until 10:30 a.m.

A post from the facility stated that 30 minutes was needed for the filtration system to work effectively after the power was restored.
