Medicine Hat Tigers captain Bryce Pickford thwarted the Lethbridge Hurricanes comeback attempt, scoring the overtime winner with 17 seconds remaining to secure the extra point for the Tabbies.

Cash Christie made his Western Hockey League debut between the pipes for the Tigers and turned aside 20 of 23 shots in the win.

Yaroslav Bryzgalov, Dayton Reschny, and Liam Ruck also added singles in the Tabbies win.

Tyden Lafournaise, Easton Daneault, and Oli Chenier found the back of the net for the Hurricanes, helping the club secure a point.

The Tigers penalty kill was tested frequently, taking to the ice seven times.

Jonas Woo was assessed a five-minute major for a match penalty early in the second period and is automatically suspended until the play is reviewed by the WHL league office.

With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-0-0-0 head-to-head with the Hurricanes and have won 14 consecutive regular-season and playoff meetings.

The Tigers are back in action Tuesday night in Edmonton for a marquee matchup with the Oil Kings.
