The Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Medicine Hat Polar Plunge raised over $15,000 for Special Olympics Alberta on Sunday.

Money raised supports year-round programming for Special Olympics athletes in Medicine Hat.

The event had a large group of individuals, one at a time, jumping into a dumpster filled with ice-cold water.

Featured plungers were Special Olympics Athletes and five Medicine Hat Tigers players.

Andrew Basha was the first Tigers player to hit the cold water, followed by Josh Van Mulligen, Kadon McCann, Luke Cozens, and Tyson Moss in a video shared by the Tigers social media channel.

The event has taken place for several years, hosted at Athletic Park for the third consecutive year.
