Medicine Hat Tigers aim to tie their longest win streak in franchise history tonight against the Lethbridge Hurricanes

Jan 10, 2026 | 11:36 AM

The Medicine Hat Tigers welcome their divisional rival, the Lethbridge Hurricanes, inside Co-op Place tonight with a chance to tie the club’s longest win streak in franchise history.

Coming off the heels of an 8-3 come-from-behind victory against the Seattle Thunderbirds, the Tiger offense is rolling, with 39 goals over their last six games.

Of that, Tiger captain Bryce Pickford leads all Western Hockey League skaters with 31 goals, just one shy of tying the single-season franchise record for goals by a defenseman set by Kris Russell during the 2006-07 season.

Pickford and his defensive partner Jonas Woo each enter on 14-game point streaks, having combined for 27 goals and 63 points over that span.

Tigers forward Liam Ruck also enters on a double-digit point streak with points in his last 12 games, but also rides an eight-game goal-scoring streak into tonight, tied with teammate Bryce Pickford for the longest in the WHL this season.

Liam has ten goals and 21 points over the eight-game spell.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes enter just 2-8-0-0 over their last ten games, most recently having suffered a 6-3 defeat on home ice to the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Tonight marks the third of eight regular-season meetings between the Tabbies and ‘Canes, with Medicine Hat holding a 2-0-0-0 head-to-head record thus far.

It will also be the first time the clubs have seen one another since they swapped skaters earlier this week, with the Tigers adding Hurricanes leading scorer Luke Cozens in exchange for defenseman Kyle Heger.

Puck drop from inside Co-op Place is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MST, and the pre-game show begins at 6:30 on WILD 94.5 FM.
