Kyle Heger overtime heroics lift Tigers over Pats 4-3

A career-high four-point night from Liam Ruck, alongside a Kyle Heger overtime winner, helped the Medicine Hat Tigers snap a four-game winless streak against the Regina Pats.

It was the third time in the Tabbies’ past four games that they required extra time, and this time it would go in their favor with Heger sniping home the game-winner 1:10 into the overtime frame.

Jonas Woo found the back of the net for the fifth straight game with his 11th goal of the season, the most amongst all Western Hockey League defensemen.

Woo now has eight goals and 12 points over the five-game span since returning from injury.

Liam Ruck rounded out the Tiger offense with his first multi-goal game of the season, en route to being named the game’s first star.

Jordan Switzer stopped 22 of 25 shots for his eighth win of the season, while Marek Schlenker stopped 38 of 42 in the loss.

Medicine Hat is back in action tomorrow night in Brandon, where they will aim to avenge a 7-4 loss to the Wheat Kings last Saturday night inside Co-op Place.
