Friends of Medicare and Dr. Parks to hold health care town halls in Southern Alberta

Oct 28, 2025 | 9:15 AM

Friends of Medicare will be holding town hall events in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat as part of a greater Alberta tour with Dr. Paul Parks.

Parks is an emergency physician in Medicine Hat and a past president of the Alberta Medical Association.

The event, “Urgent Conversations on Public Health Care,” will include stops at several locations throughout the province after two initial stops.

The group says the events will offer an opportunity for residents to share their experiences and concerns with the provincial health care system, and discuss solutions.

The Lethbridge event will include family physician Dr. Jillian Demontigny.

It takes place at Southminster United Church, 1011 4th Ave S, on Sunday, Nov. 2. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the town hall starts at 3 p.m.

Details are available through friendsofmedicare.org/healthcarelethbridge.

The Medicine Hat event will be hosted at the St. John’s Presbyterian Church at 504 2 St SE on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

It will follow the FOM’s Palliser Chapter‘s Annual General Meeting at 7 p.m.

Both events are free and open to the public; however, the group is requesting an RSVP for those attending.
