Medicine Hat’s Evaschesen signs with WHL’s Blazers

Medicine Hat’s Josh Evaschesen has been signed to a Western Hockey League scholarship and development agreement by the Kamloops Blazers.

The 19-year-old Evaschesen is 6’2” and 195 lbs. He played the wotj the BCHL’s Trail Smoke Eaters during the 2024-2025 season putting up five goals, 10 assists and 15 points in 34 games.

Blazers general manager and head coach Shaun Clouston said in a statement, they would like to welcome Josh and his family to the team.

“Josh has earned a spot in Kamloops with his play and we are excited to be a part of his development,” Clouston said.

Evaschesen is an alumni of the South Alberta Hockey Academy and Medicine Hat Minor Hockey programs.

He was listed by the Blazers in May 2025.

Evaschesen is a former WHL Prospects Draft pick of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, who selected him in the 9th round 184th overall in 2021.
