Kickstand a new youth hub opening in Medicine Hat

A new youth hub is opening in Medicine Hat to offer supports.

Kickstand Medicine Hat is a partnership with the Mental Health Foundation, Government of Alberta, Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta, Medicine Hat Health Foundation, and McMan South.

It officially has a grand opening Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The centre will providing free, inclusive, and judgment-free health and wellness services for those aged 11 to 25.

Kickstand hubs bring together mental health, substance use, primary care, peer support, Indigenous wellness, and social services all under one roof at no cost.

The goal of the organization is to help youth experience more good days and build a healthier future, together.

Dignitaries set to speak during the grand opening are Elder Charlie Fox, Rick Wilson the provincial minister of mental health & addiction, Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Justin Wright, city councillor Shila Sharps, and BOOST youth member Anna Nozewski.

The event is open to the public and includes activities such as outdoor games and a photo booth, along with a barbeque at the 1001 Kingsway Ave S.E. location.

Treats will also be provided Southcountry Co-op, who sponsors the Co-op Coffee Corner inside the centre.
