Quonset Days concert festival this weekend celebrates 15 years

Jul 16, 2025 | 8:00 PM

The Quonset Days country music festival near Seven Persons is returning for year 15 this Friday and Saturday.

Organizers said the July 18 and 19 edition will bring the community together in support of ALS research with the event being the biggest yet.

Medicine Hat’s MacKenzie Porter will be headlining this years event on Friday, which will also feature Jess Moskaluke, along with local performers Morgan Klaiber and Phoenix.

Saturday will see Default with Dallas Smith as the headliner, with Owen Riegling, Matt Lang and local band Vanity Trip, which includes Porter’s older sister Kelsey.

Quonset Days was founded in memory of Peter Biemans, a devoted husband and father who passed away from ALS in 2009.

The event has grown into a full-scale music festival raising funds and awareness for ALS research, with over $860,000 raised for the ALS Society of Alberta.

Organizers said every dollar raised goes to help fund vital research, care and support for those affected by ALS.

“Ticket sales are strong, and it’s shaping up to be an amazing weekend,” says Trevor Biemans, co-founder of Quonset Days and son of Peter Biemans.

“We’ve come a long way in 15 years, and we’d love nothing more than to break the $1 million mark on this anniversary,” he added.

“It’s a milestone that would mean the world to our family and everyone who’s been part of this journey.”

During the two nights of music, food and beverages will be available on site, and a free shuttle service available from Medicine Hat.

Tickets are still available for purchase through quonsetdays.com.
