Medicine Hat youth charged with break and enter

A 13-year old female has been charged with break and enter to commit theft after an incident on Sunday evening in Medicine Hat.

Medicine Hat Police Service received a complaint shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday about a break and enter in progress on the 700 block of 2 Street Southeast.

Police discovered a broken window when they arrived at the business, and with help of the Police Service Dog located the suspect hiding inside.

The youth was released from custody to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court.

Under provisions set forth in the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of the female will not be released.
