Mustard Seed highlights donation options ahead of potential postal strike

May 22, 2025 | 2:50 PM

The Mustard Seed is promoting alternative ways to donate to the organization ahead of a potential Canada Post labour disruption.

The organization said it wants to avoid delays and ensure uninterrupted services for thousands of individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Online and phone donations remain the fastest and most secure options, according to a news release from The Mustard Seed.

Philip Calvert, the organization’s chief development officer, said that financial support remains crucial even during a postal strike.

“Thousands rely on the Mustard Seed for shelter, meals and life-changing support,” Philip said in a statement.

“By giving online or through alternate methods, you help meet urgent needs without delay. Your generosity ensures no one is left behind, no matter the circumstances.”

Donations can be made online at TheSeed.ca/Donate or by calling 1-833-448-4673.

The Mustard Seed is a Christian non-profit organization that has provided services to individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty since 1984.

It operates in Medicine Hat and in cities across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.
