Feb 24, 2025 | 11:07 AM

The Medicine Hat Cubs can wrap up their Heritage Junior Hockey League second round playoff series with the Agra Risk Wheatland Kings on Wednesday in Strathmore.

The Cubs won their Sunday afternoon contest at the Kinplex Arena 3-2 with Jacob Hazzard scoring the game winner with 3:21 left in the third period.

This put the Cubs up two games to none in the best-of-five series, after they had also won a 5-2 contest in Strathmore on Saturday.

HJHL regular season point leader Kyle Wooldridge had four goals in Saturday’s game, and another on Sunday to put him as the top goal scorer in the playoffs with five tallies.

In the other south division semi-final the Carstar Okotoks Bisons are also up two game to none on the Cannex Cochrane Generals who had won their best of three first round series with the Coaldale Copperheads two games to one.

If a game four is needed in the Cubs-Kings series it will take place Friday at Medicine Hat’s Kinplex One at 7:45 p.m.
