Medicine Hat Public School Division hosting ‘Expo of Learning’

Jan 14, 2025 | 4:51 PM

The Medicine Hat Public School Division is inviting students and parents to their second annual exhibition this week.

The expo will showcase the education journey that the MHPSD students are experiencing.

Corey Sadlemyer, associate superintendent of learning with the MHPSD, said that all schools will be represented at the expo.

“We want to show that consistent stream of professional instruction that we offer at our schools, at all of our schools,” he said.

It gives parents the chance to connect with educators and staff members to support their child’s learning journey.

The MHPSD says parents can explore the diverse and enriching educational experiences offered at their schools.

Parents and students can engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations showcasing various available subjects and extracurricular activities.

Parents can learn about different educational programs and resources that the MHPSD provides to ensure students’ success.

“When I was a school principal, I would have all sorts of people come and want to do school tours,” Sadlemyer said.

“We’d arrange a tour, and we’d do this, and I’d give them this very personal tour, and come and see my school,” he added.

“But there was almost no opportunity where I could come and essentially do a whole bunch of school tours at once, and I could learn a whole bunch of things.”

Sadlemyer said that this is an opportunity for families to learn about “a whole bunch of schools all at the same time”.

The expo will be taking place Jan. 15 at Medicine Hat High School, and Jan. 16 at Crescent Heights High School from 6 until 7:30 p.m both nights.
