Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend: Dec. 6-8

It’s starting to feel like Christmas despite the warm weather.

Friday will bring a high of 3 C and Saturday a high of 4 C, according to Environment Canada. Sunday will bring rain or snow as it cools off to a 1 C high.

Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend.

🚂 Christmas train

The popular CPKC Holiday Train is making its Medicine Hat stop at about 3:15 p.m. on Sunday.

The train, which travels from New Brunswick to British Columbia, raises money for food banks along the route. It has raised over $24 million since its first run in 1999.

K.T. Tunstall and American Authors will perform for the half-hour stop at the CPKC yard on North Railway Street before the train sets off again.

The train is also making stops in Maple Creek and Brooks on Sunday.

🐅 Tigers at home Saturday

The Medicine Hat Tigers are on the road Friday evening to play the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Tigers return home to take on the Edmonton Oil Kings at 7 p.m. Saturday at Co-op Place.

🧸️ It’s also the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game.

🎄 Grinchmas

The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting Grinchmas from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

There will be crafts and activities based on the fictional grouchy character.

The library is also hosting a “Wrap and Yap” event, among other activities this month to provide opportunities to those who may feel isolated over the holidays.

❄️ Christmas fair

The annual Wellington Christmas Fair is on from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

There will be gifts, baked goods and decorative crafts available at the fair.

📝 Redcliff trivia night

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 6 in Redcliff is hosting a trivia night at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

It costs $5 per player and there are six players a team.
