Drop off locations needed for Wild Food Drive

Oct 15, 2024 | 4:20 PM

Wild 94.5 is looking for more businesses, schools or charitable groups to be a part of the Wild Food Drive this year as a collection point.

The food drive helps support the Root Cellar, with collection taking on Nov. 20 and Nov. 21.

A food collection bin will be put onsite at participating businesses and organizations, along with a cash can and supplied signage, with promotion leading up to the collection date.

Root Cellar executive director Melissa Mullis said the food drive helps to stock the shelves every year.

“We are seeing a really high demand. In August, we served 4,105 people,” Mullis said.

“A lot of people are coming to us for assistance right now. We are definitely needing food to come through our doors,” she added.

“We have on our website our basic needs list. It tells you all the different kind of things that we purchase, things that we commit to having on the shelves. But also some wish list items as well.”

Mullis added it’s a huge community collaboration and it means a lot to have this support from the community.
