The Medicine Hat Rattlers women’s hockey team will look to continue their winning ways against the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Trojans Friday night on home ice.

The Rattlers won their first ever Alberta College Athletic Conference game against the Trojans in the final game of the 2023-24 season.

The program enters their second official year in the Alberta College Athletic Conference with a goal of getting into the top four spots in its league to reach the playoffs this season.

There has been a lot of roster turnover since last season with only 10 of 25 players returning.

Head Coach Chad Baron is looking to have the team gel and building a winning culture, and knows the team will be up for this game.

“Well, our girls will be excited for sure. It’s all about keeping those emotions in check tonight. It’s going to be exciting. A lot of them are first time playing in the ACAC,” Baron said.

“I’m sure it’s by design that SAIT’s here again. They’re looking for redemption. So we’ll be up for it too,” he added.

“We just got to expect them to be really wanting to come in here and win and just be ready for that. To respond to those things. We should be good tonight.”

Game time is 7 p.m. at the Moose Recreation Centre.

The Rattlers will be on the road Sunday to take on the same Trojans team in Calgary.
