Second soaker in a week fills rain gauges; Medicine Hat just missed it

The second major rainfall event this month left 81.5 millimetres of rain over the Saskatchewan side of the Cypress Hills.

Environment Canada says the system, which spawned rainfall warnings, also brought 56.4 mm to Maple Creek and 35.5 for Leader.

On the Alberta side of the Cypress Hills, the Alberta Environment rain gauge at Medicine Hat Lodge, near Elkwater, captured 63.9 mm.

Irvine had 27.7 mm and 22.8 mm of rain fell at Schuler.
