EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Jasper Weatherby to a professional tryout, the NHL team announced Thursday.

The 26-year-old from Portland, Ore., had 12 goals and 13 assists in 66 games for the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals last season.

Weatherby was selected by San Jose in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2018 NHL draft and had five goals and six assists in 50 games with the Sharks in 2020-21.

Weatherby was dealt to Detroit in January 2023 before moving on to Nashville as a free agent that July but did not appear in an NHL game for either club.
