A pandemic tradition continues this weekend.
The fourth annual PorchFest Medicine Hat, part of a broader worldwide movement to have live music played from the porches of homes, is back on Saturday.
It starts at noon with Netty Mac performing at 306 Seventh Street and ends with Derek Hintz playing at 5:30 p.m. at 512 Cambridge Street.

The Echo Dale Regional Park swim lake will close for the season on Monday.
Staff will begin draining the swim lake on Tuesday.
The boat lake will remain open.

The Medicine Hat Drug Coalition is marking International Overdose Awareness Day with a free barbecue.
That will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the library courtyard.

There’s a free concert taking place at the Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre.
From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, the Band of the Household Cavalry will kick off an Alberta-wide tour.
Throughout the evening there will be a variety of music, featuring solos, duets and the world-famous Cavalry Trumpeters.
No tickets are required.

The 20 Mile Post Days is running Friday to Sunday in Irvine.
The Chainsaw Carvers will perform at the rodeo grounds on Friday and the outdoor trade show and market at the Irvine Museum on Saturday.

The Brooks Corn Maze is open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

The City of Medicine Hat’s Towne Square block parties continue this weekend.
Saturday’s edition of the block party will celebrate first responders.
The event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. downtown.
