The City of Medicine Hat is holding its first “municipal mingle” since the spring.

It will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 outside at Towne Square downtown.

The open house event is designed to create a “collaborative environment” between the city’s staff members and the community.

The open house format allows for informal interactions where Hatters can engage city employees on the topics that interest them the most.

“Residents of all ages are encouraged to attend and connect, engage, and share their feedback on a range of local initiatives,” officials said in a news release.

“The goal of the event is to receive insights, gather feedback, and encourage community participation in new and ongoing projects that shape the future of Medicine Hat.”

There will also be prize giveaways, according to the Shape Your City event page. The first 100 attendees will receive a $5 food voucher.

“Executive leadership” is one of the departments listed for the event but it was not immediately clear if that would include Mayor Linnsie Clark, members of council or administration staff such as City Manager ann Mitchell.

The communications, economic development, gas production, finance, municipal works and various other departments and teams will also be present.
