It’s more than just adoption, according to APARC coordinator Bethany Rann.

“This day only isn’t just about getting dogs adopted, it’s really about seeing how our dogs react outside of the shelter and with all of the other dogs around them,” Rann told CHAT News.

“We’re going to see who’s the most dog reactive, who does well, who listens, who doesn’t.”

Rann said that all dogs being showed have basic training commands down, such as shaking paws, sitting and laying down and are looking for a warm household to call home.

“They’re all fully vaccinated, spayed and neutered. They have their microchip. All the owner has to do is register the microchip under their name and then pay the fee, and that’s it.”

“They’re all ready to go, all very polite and well-mannered.”
