Medicine Hat Mavericks facing elimination after Game 1 loss

The Medicine Hat Mavericks are in a must-win situation heading into Game 2 of its Western Canadian Baseball League Eastern Division semi-final series.

A close 6-4 loss to the Saskatoon Berries at Athletic Park on Wednesday night has the team facing elimination on the road at Cairns Park Thursday.

The Berries got out to 1-0 lead in the top of the second, in the bottom of the inning, a solo home run from the Mavs Micah Dvorak tied up the contest.

However, the Berries were able to take and hold the lead the rest of the way.
