Former SEAC Tigers player, Oyen resident sent to Tri-City Americans in WHL trade

Grady Martin of Oyen, Alta., has been traded from the Prince Albert Raiders to the Tri-City Americans in a multi-player Western Hockey League trade on Wednesday.

The 18-year old spent two seasons with the South East Athletic Club Tigers U-15 AAA program based out of Medicine Hat from 2019-2021.

Martin then played the 2021-22 season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes U-18 AAA team before his two season with the Prince Albert Raiders.

In 114 regular season games over two WHL season Martin put up 15 points. He added an assist in five playoff games with the Raiders.

The 6-foot-4 forward, was a second-round pick, 32nd overall by the Raiders in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

Full trade details have the Prince Albert Raiders sending defenseman Terrell Goldsmith, goaltender Nathan Preston, and a third-round pick in 2025 along with Martin to the Tri-City Americans for defenseman Lukas Dragicevic, goaltender Eric Kahl, and a seventh-round pick in 2025.

Martin is the older brother of Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Jude Martin, who was selected with the Tigers seventh-round pick in the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft.
