Brooks Bandits win Rocky Mountain Challenge
The Brooks Bandits on Saturday night capped off the franchise’s first playoff run in a new league with a ceremonial championship, claiming an unofficial title as the best team in the British Columbia Hockey League.

The Bandits beat the Surrey Eagles — the winning junior hockey team out of B.C. — in Game 2 of the best-of-three series 4-1 to claim victory in the one-time Rocky Mountain Challenge.
The Bandits have been driving into uncharted territory since the team left the Alberta Junior Hockey League in February, along with four other franchises.
