Central Alberta Mounties are hoping members of the public can help them identify a pair of suspects wanted in connection with a local stabbing this spring.

Maskwacis RCMP on April 22 received a report of a stabbing that occurred in the Samson Cree Nation townsite.

Upon arrival, police located a victim who was taken by STARS to hospital with serious injuries. The Maskwacis RCMP General Investigations Section was deployed and has taken over the investigation.

Mounties say witnesses indicate two suspects forced their way into the home earlier where they sprayed the occupants with a mace type substance. They later returned, allegedly threatened the victim with a firearm before attacking the victim with an edged weapon. RCMP say they continue to attempt to identify the suspects and are asking the public for assistance.
