Brooks teacher wins 2024 Edwin Parr award

A first year teacher at Brooks Junior High School has won a major award.

Nikee Lecitona is the recipient of the 2024 Edwin Parr Teacher Award in Zone 6, one of only six to claim it across Alberta.

The award honours outstanding first year Kindergarten to Grade 12 teachers.

“We could not be more proud of Ms. Lecitona and all her work supporting her students at Brooks Junior High School,” Sean Beaton, assistant superintendent of support services at Grasslands Public Schools, said.

There were several local nominees, as well.
