The City of Medicine Hat is inviting all residents of Medicine Hat to their third municipal mingle event on Wednesday.

It’s happening outdoors at Towne Square.

Over ten different departments will be onsite.

Gillian Reimer, manager of marketing and creative services with the city, said it’s a great way for the public to get some questions answered.

“A chance for the community to engage with some of our city departments and find out just different projects that we’re working on,” Reimer said.

“Some of our departments are currently asking for the community’s feedback for some of the different projects they’re doing. So it’s a great opportunity to come down, learn more about what’s happening at your municipality.”

The Community Development Department will be there talking about the Community Well-Being Plan including the Arts, Heritage and Entertainment Plan.

Land available for sale in the city can be discussed with the Land and Real Estate Department.

The Environmental Utilities Department will have two tables, one talking about the food waste pilot project. The other the water conservation and potential drought situation.

Fire and Emergency Services will be there with a fire truck. Kids can come and explore the fire truck.

The Finance Department onsite as they are heavily engaged right now in the 25-26 budget planning process.

“That’s a very complex process. So definitely a chance for residents to learn more about what actually goes into that big undertaking,” Reimer said.

Four pillars of economic development is the discussion at the Medicine Hat Economic Development Department booth.

The Medicine Hat Regional Airport will be represented talking about some of their upcoming plans.

The construction on Division Ave coming up this summer will be discussed at the Municipal Works Department booth.

The Parks and Recreation Department will talking about all the different summer camps available, programs at Big Marble Go Center and swimming.

The Land Use Bylaw refresh will be the topic at the Planning and Development Department booth.

Executive Leaders will be mingling with the crowd talking about the different roles that the different levels of government play.

Food trucks and fire trucks will be onsite, with some yard games set up to enjoy.

This takes place May 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The first 30 people to visit the Environmental Utilities booth will get free rain barrels.
