Road construction on two major roadways in Medicine Hat begins Monday

Road construction on two major roadways in Medicine Hat will begin on Monday.

Preparation and traffic delays were underway on Dunmore Road Friday to replace some sections of concrete ahead of the project.

Dunmore Road between Southview Drive S.E. and Spencer Street S.E. will be resurfaced on both the northbound and southbound lanes.

Infrastructure repairs are expected to last three weeks with paving to follow in mid June.

Some work will occur only at night to minimize disruption to traffic and businesses in the area.

A deep utility replacement project on Altawana Drive between Parkview Drive and Seventh Street N.E. will also be underway.

Traffic will continue to flow in both directions at each site with delays to be expected.

Motorists are asked to obey construction signs, flag personnel and temporary speed limits near the work zone.
