Individual concert tickets for the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede’s summer night shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 2, organizers said Monday.

The Summer Night Show Lineup concerts scheduled for July begin at 9 p.m. at the Stampede.

Tickets for Bret Michaels of Poison on July 24 are $99 all-in or $109 for an infield pass. Washboard Union costs $69-$79 for the band’s July 25 show. James Barker Band will cost $79-$89 on July 27.

The Night Show package is still available at a cost of $199. The package includes gate admission.

General Manager Ron Edwards said they always open up sales for the the packages first because a lot of people love to go all three nights.

“They want to get good seats and when they’re buying all three nights we give them an opportunity to get those seats and the package price was really reasonable this year,” Edwards said.

“We did sell our few packages and then now we’ve had a lot of calls to get those individual tickets out there. So that’s what we’re doing,” he added.

“Sales are going pretty good. Medicine Hat we find is a last minute town.”

Edwards said a lot of time is put in by the committee to line up these musical acts.

“The night show, they look at all the entertainers and who they can get and that’s not an easy job,” Edwards said.

“They’ll start again in the summertime looking for next year. It takes a year to get them all put together,” he added.

“There’s about 30 committees that do a lot of work for that summer fair. And without them and without the volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to do it.”

Tickets to the Stampede’s new Cars and Guitars Grandstand concert scheduled for Aug. 10 will go on sale at a later date for $20, organizers said.

“We will hopefully have that all done and on sale by June 1st,” Edwards said.

Tickets for the WPCA Chuckwagon Races on June 20-23 and the Summer Pro Rodeo on July 25-27 are available now.

“We’ve had the chuck wagons for over 20 years now coming here to Medicine Hat and we just signed another three-year contract with them because they’re huge for the economy,” Edwards said.

“There’s 36 wagons with all their families and all their outriders and people like that and their caretakers that look after these animals. They’ll have good four or five hundred horses on the grounds. They bring two and three teams and they love Medicine Hat because it’s a run-up into Calgary and a lot of these drivers will be in the Calgary Stampede as well,” he added.

“Twelve heats each night for four nights, it’s a really good place for them to come and they enjoy being here and it’s a huge impact for the city.”

Nominations for the Stampede Queen and Princess close April 30.
