‘Be quiet, because they’re there:’ Medicine Hat women claims to have experienced the supernatural

Apr 13, 2024 | 7:00 AM

A former nurse in Medicine Hat has said that she not only believes in ghosts, but that she’s had first hand experience with the supernatural while working the graveyard shift at an Ontario hospital and at a Medicine Hat seniors home.

Linda Young said that she’s heard murmurings from those in the health community about possible sightings in the Medicine Hat Hospital.

Young said that she and two of her coworkers had seen three spirits, including a young boy, roaming the halls of the hospital ward in Ontario.

While there is no way to verify the validity of these claims, Young said that skeptics should keep an open mind.

“With skeptics, if they haven’t seen, they don’t believe,” Young said.

“They think you’re crazy,” she said.

“If you haven’t seen one, I’m going to say to be quiet, because they’re there.”

Young said others could back up her claims.

“Ask any nurse or anyone who works in long term care or hospitals. You ask them what they see and they’ll tell you,” she added.

“Every nurse has a story. They really do.”

Young said that she still occasionally sees spirits in her day to day life, but that most sightings occur after 2 a.m.

Young recently shared her experiences with Discovery Plus for the show “Haunted Hospitals”.
