Halo Air Ambulance Service continues to establish its profile in Southern Alberta.

At the 2024 Halo annual general meeting Thursday evening HALO Air Ambulance said they saw an 8 per cent increase in calls last year.

Halo continued to solidify both its fundamental business model with diversification of its funding efforts across municipal partnerships along with an increase in attendance of fundraising initiatives.

This resulted in a solid financial position.

Contributions include a 16.5 per cent increase in donations from the public, an increase in municipal government donations as well as a 48 per cent increase in provincial grants.

However CEO Paul Carolan said there is more work to do.

Carolan said that key investments in 2023 included upgrades to pilot protective equipment and satellite communications.

Other company investment were improved flight tracking technology to serve critical patients.

HALO’s largest response calls continue to be agriculture incidents, industrial accidents and recreational situations.
