RCMP searching for suspects after Brooks jewellery store robbery

The RCMP is searching for a pair of suspects after a robbery in Brooks early on Wednesday morning.

Officers at 5:43 a.m. responded within moments to a report of a glass break alarm at Mareta’s Fine Jewellery.

The suspects had already fled as there was a time delay between in the alarm to notify 911, police said.

Stolen was a large amount of jewellery, with the exact amount still being determined.

CCTV showed two fully-covered suspects leaving on foot from the complex and then a likely an awaiting vehicle.

A forensic examination was completed of the scene.

Efforts to locate further CCTV and possible getaway vehicle are being sought.

Brooks RCMP are requesting if anyone has CCTV or dashcam footage in the area of 1st Ave East and Railway Avenue to contact police.
