A suspect was arrested by police in Brooks on Wednesday after a “police operation” was carried out at a residence in the Uplands neighbourhood, RCMP said.
The incident was confined to one specific residence and there was no outward threat to the public, according to a nieghbourhood safety organization.
An evacuation of students from the nearby Uplands Elementary School was solely a precautionary measure due to its close proximity to the residence, police said.
A spokesperson for the RCMP did not respond to a request for comment.
