Shipping container ‘explodes’ in Medicine Hat’s light industrial area, no injuries reported

The major crimes unit and a fire investigator are working together to determine the cause of an explosion in Medicine Hat’s light industrial area Tuesday night.
Emergency services were called to a business at 3100 18th Avenue Southwest around 9:30 p.m.
An “explosion” happened inside a shipping container, also known as a “c-can” or “sea-can”, according to the fire department.
No one was hurt and damage was limited to the container and its contents, which are unknown.
