‘I’m just very grateful’: Tigers’ Basha preparing for CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Jan 18, 2024 | 4:51 PM

Next week, some of this nation’s top hockey talent will head to Moncton, N.B., for the Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. One of those players will be Tigers left winger Andrew Basha.

Team Canada Red will go up against Team Canada White in a single game, taking place Jan. 24. Basha will play for Canada Red, being one of two Tigers picked to participate.

Cayden Lindstrom was also selected, but is currently recovering from an upper-body injury.

The game will be a chance for potential NHL draft picks to prove their talent in front of hundreds of scouts.

However, Basha says he’s not nervous, just excited to see the hockey talent from other Canadian leagues.

“It’s not going to be the thing that says I’m going to get drafted or I’m not going to get drafted,” Basha told CHAT News.

“I’m just very grateful that I was selected to be a part of the group.”

Despite Basha being from Calgary, he is also looking forward to playing in front of many extended family members from New Brunswick.

This top prospects game also comes after the NHL Central Scouting Midterm Rankings, where Basha was ranked 18th.

The Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will air on TSN at 5:30 p.m. MST.
