‘Caring 4 Curling Fundraiser’ deemed a success

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Curling Centre is in the process of raising money, continuing to work towards its goal of opening the doors in the fall of 2024.

Last weekend, they held the ‘Caring 4 Curling Fundraiser’ dinner. Manager Vicki Sjolie said it was a success.

With a silent auction, dinner and donations from the community, the centre raised about $40,000. These funds will go towards repairs and equipment needed to fix the facility. That equipment that has already been ordered.

“People, if they couldn’t be here, you know, they were offering cash donations or supportive of the silent auction to bring in extra dollars,” Sjolie said.

“People, they just want to get curling back in the community, even our community support from other people that maybe necessarily aren’t curlers, but know the importance of having curling in a city our size.”
