Documentary on importance of community connections coming to Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT — A documentary that delves into the importance of community connection at the grassroots level will be screened as part of a general discussion on the benefits of being connected.
The Great Disconnect explores the critical reasons and methods for establishing and nurturing community connections, encouraging a dialogue about creating inclusive social spaces and enhancing community well-being.
In a release, Anabell Marroquin, the Community Resource Worker with the City of Medicine Hat says ” Research shows that people who feel connected in their community, whether at a geographic level or in an interest group, live a more fulfilled life and can give back to the community. Social connections have a significant benefit on both physical and mental wellbeing.”
In order to make the film accessible to as many people as possible, multiple viewings have been scheduled at four different locations beginning on December 7.
