LETHBRIDGE, AB – The first-ever Holiday Smile Cookie campaign from Tim Hortons raised $9.8 million for charities across the country.

The initiative ran from Nov. 13 to 19, 2023.

As part of the campaign, 100 per cent of proceeds from cookies sales were donated to over 600 local charities and community groups, including the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

“From our guests who bought millions of Holiday Smile Cookies to show their support for amazing organizations in their communities, to our restaurant owners, team members and volunteers who baked and hand decorated all those cookies, this was an amazing team effort that will have a big impact right across Canada,” Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons, said in a news release,

In Lethbridge, the campaign benefited Green Shirt Day.

The foundation was created by Toby and Bernadine Boulet to honour their son, the late Logan Boulet. Logan was one of the victims of the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash.

His organ donation after his passing helped save six lives. Since then, the Boulet family has been raising awareness about the importance of organ donation.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners will present their charity partners with cheques over the coming weeks.

Toby Boulet has told LNN that the amount raised for Green Shirt Day will be disclosed during a cheque presentation sometime in the coming weeks.
