BROOKS, AB. — Four members of the Brooks Bandits have been identified on NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2024 NHL draft.

Logan Sawyer, Nathan Free, Mathieu Taillefer and Marko Bilic are included in the list, which is a compilation of 20243 draft-eligible prospects from all major development leagues throughout North America and Europe.

Sawyer, 17, is a point per game player in his first 15 games in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, and was the AJHL Rookie of the Week earlier this month.

Nathan Free, also 17, is another point per game player in his second season with the Bandits.

Defenceman Mathieu Tallifer, from Lake Newell, has 8 points in 14 games with the Bandits so far this season.

Marko Bilic is currently playing in the United States High School Prep League but is committed to the Bandits for the 2024-25 season.

Of the 4 players on the list, Sawyer is projected the highest potential pick, somewhere in the fourth or fifth round of the June draft in Las Vegas.

The list is updated several times during the season as scouts evaluate players.
