VICTORIA, B.C. — The Medicine Hat Tigers scored first, but the Victoria Royals scored more often as they skated to a 4-1 win over the visitors in Victoria.

Brayden Boehm opened the scoring 8 minutes and 29 seconds into the contest with his third of the year.

But that was all the goals the Tigers could manage as they lost for the first time on this swing through the B.C. Division.

The Royals outshot the Tigers 27 to 26.

Neither team was able to score with the man advantage, as the Medicine Hat power play was 0 for 3, while the Tigers killed off 5 power play chances by the Royals.

The Tigers are in Vancouver tonight to face a Giants team that has 2 wins in 5 starts to the season.

In other WHL games involving Eastern Division teams, Swift Current scored 4 times in the third period to take a 6-3 victory from the Blazers in Kamloops.

The Red Deer Rebels shut out the Oil Kings 4-0 in Edmonton.

Regina doubled the Warriors 4-2 at Moose Jaw.

Brandon lost 6-4 in Seattle.
