Suspects in Lethbridge high school sex assault released from custody with conditions
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A group of teenagers accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student will be unable to attend their own school.
The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has provided an update on an investigation at Chinook High School.
The LPS said the four male suspects, two of whom are aged 17 and two who are 16, have made their first court appearances and have been released from custody. Their releases came with several conditions, including not having contact with the victim and not attending Chinook High School or its grounds.
This stems from an incident on October 3, 2023, as police say a 16-year-old boy was allegedly forcibly confined and sexually assaulted in a locker room at the school after the regular school hours.
