Tigers open season with two wins over Hitmen
The Medicine Hat Tigers are off to a 2-0 start after winning both halves of a home-and-home season-opening weekend with the Calgary Hitmen.
Newly-minted captain Tyler MacKenzie led the way on Friday scoring two goals in the 4-1 victory in Calgary.
At the other end of the ice, Evan May turned aside 35 shots to get the win.
The Tigers gave their home fans plenty to cheer about early on Saturday, scoring three times in the first 6:12 and rolling to a 5-3 win.
