MEDICINE HAT, AB – It sounds like a lot of money – $50,000. But that only covers about six months of vet bills for the Medicine Hat SPCA, and it’s only a fraction of the approximately $700,000 it cost the not-for-profit to care for over 400 animals last year.

The sixth Medicine Hat SPCA Katch ‘n Kennel community family day and fundraising event is on Saturday at the Stampede Pavilion.

Medicine Hat SPCA board member Gillian Reimer joined Dan Reynish on CHAT News at Noon to explain how the Katch ‘n Kennel works online and in-person, who will be in the kennels on Saturday and the current capacity challenges at the SPCA.
