Neighbourhood emergency training session planned for Unison Veiner Centre
MEDICINE HAT, AB — The City of Medicine Hat and the Medicine Hat Police Service will host a special event tomorrow, to help inform residents how they can be ready for the unexpected.
Members of the police service and the emergency social services team will be on hand at the Unison Veiner Centre to show people how they can be ready should fire happen in their neighbourhoods, what to do during storm alerts and how to handle suspicious activities and packages.
The event gives older adults and those who support them the opportunity to meet with first responders and emergency management experts and learn how to safeguard themselves and their loved once during emergencies.
There’s no charge for the event which takes place from 9:45 a.m. to noon, Sept. 21 at the Unison Veiner Centre on Woodman Avenue SE.
