Council approves plan for RV storage at old mill site

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Changes could be coming to a central Medicine Hat site that has sat empty for a decade.

Council unanimously supported a recommendation to allow for temporary RV storage at the grounds of the former Ogilvie Flour Mill at 1222 Allowance Ave. SE at the bottom of Dunmore Hill.

The proposal presented would see RVs stored on the west side of the property, surrounding the mill. The east side would remain untouched. The recommendation presented to council made clear only RV storage would be allowed on the site and not shipping containers, due to the relative ease RVs could be removed in the event of flooding of the Seven Persons Creek running next to the site.

The Ogilvie Flour Mill was decommissioned in 2013 when it was owned by ADM and has been vacant since then.
