Mustard Seed Harvest Takeaway moving to Towne Square

MEDICINE HAT, AB – From the Women in Business Expo, to Art in Motion, to the farmers market, there are many events for Hatters to keep themselves busy this weekend. The Mustard Seed will be hosting a festival of their own, the 2nd Annual Harvest Takeaway, to raise money for the Mustard Seed food program.

The event will feature a kids area with a pinata workshop, crafts, games face painting and a complimentary concession stand. There will be a Mustard Seed table with trivia where people can win prizes. Three local musicians and a magician will provide entertainment throughout the day.

One large focus of the Harvest Takeaway is the soup kits for $35, including veggies and buns. The soup recipe is new this year and the first 50 people to purchase a kit could win a pumpkin pie. The Harvest Takeaway will be co-hosted with the city’s Art in Motion festival, that will be closing down First Street SE.

Event coordinator Morgan Widmer says she is excited they have moved the event to Towne Square this year, an expansion made possible because of last year’s success.

“We could not do what we do without the support in the community of Medicine Hat,” said Widmer. “It’s just a nice way to come together and celebrate and also raising funds for a good cause.”

The 2nd Annual Harvest Takeaway takes place Saturday from 12 to 4pm.
