Two men accused of robbery at local hotel

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Two men from Medicine Hat are facing charges in connection with robbery earlier this week.

On Aug. 15, police responded to a report of a disturbance at hotel located on Redcliff Drive SW around 5 a.m. where they observed a robbery in progress.

A 26-year-old male was arrested on scene and is facing the following charges:

• Robbery
• Wearing a mask during the commission of an offence
• Public Mischief
• Breach of Probation
• Possess Break in Instruments
• Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of a Stolen Credit Card

Following further investigation another suspect, a 37 year old male was identified and arrested. He has been charged with the following offenses:

• Breach of a weapon prohibition x 2
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
• Breach of a Release Order x 2
• Possession of a Stolen Credit Card x 2
• Possession of Stolen Property Under $52,000

Both men are being held in custody pending their next appearance in Provincial Court.
