Amplify draw winner gets more than $10,000 in Save-On-Foods gift cards

MEDICINE HAT, AB – Amplifying a Medicine Hat business amplified one local family’s grocery budget for one full year.

Helene Ressler was all smiles at Save-On-Foods this afternoon when she picked up 52 weeks’ worth of gift cards at a total value of $10,400.

Ressler says she thought it was a joke when she was told she won. She had just two words: “Shut up.”

She says she was super excited, elated and overwhelmed.

Ressler nominated the Temple Fitness gym in Medicine Hat in Pattison Media’s company-wide Amplify program

Amplify was developed by Pattison Media to support the local businesses, groups and people who are the heartbeat of the community

After getting the nominations from the community, Pattison Media used its platforms to Amplify them to let everyone know how the businesses, groups and individuals have been hustling to make their community a better place to live

Ressler, who sent her Amplify nomination to our friends at WILD 94.5, says the gift cards take some stress off of feeding her family of four.

“It probably will cover most of our meat for the week or for the month. So that’s huge,” she says. “I have two children an almost 18-year-old daughter and an almost 12-year-old son and he’s a bottomless pit at this age and like I said my husband and myself.”

She adds the gift card will allow them to put money that would normally go to groceries toward other bills and into savings instead.
