Cale Makar named cover athlete for NHL 24

A former Brooks Bandit will grace the cover of NHL 24.

Cale Makar joins stars like Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews and Nathan MacKinnon as cover athletes of the popular video game released each year by EA Sports. The full official reveal takes place today, two days after the announcement was made.

Makar won the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defenseman and the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2022, the same year his Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup.

He played for the Bandits from 2014-17 and was drafted fourth overall by the Avalanche in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
