Mavericks hunting first WCBL title in five years

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Mavericks begin the championship series tonight in Okotoks, going after their first Western Canadian Baseball League title since 2018.

The Mavericks are taking on the Okotoks Dawgs, who are looking to win the title for the second straight year.

Okotoks hasn’t lost a game in the postseason, while Medicine Hat needed the full three games to sneak by Moose Jaw in their division final.

In their four regular season meetings the Dawgs beat Medicine Hat three times.

Opening pitch at Seaman Stadium is at 7 p.m. The series returns to Athletic Park for game two on Wednesday.
